HEAD OF ENGINEERING

The Head of Engineering will be based at the global manufacturing site in Boksburg and will report to the Manufacturing Director. They will be responsible for managing plant maintenance, capital procurement, engineering, projects and health and safety.

The successful candidate will have experience managing diverse teams with varying capabilities in a fast-paced, technical production environment. This is a “hands-on” role. The Head of Engineering will spend the majority of their time in the factory.

Requirements:

BSc Engineering Degree

GCC would be advantageous

10 years technical management in a FMCG environment

Plastic bottling and packaging experience

Advanced level of computer literacy (MS Office)

Extensive knowledge of ISO standards, packaging equipment, safety and environment

HEAD OF PRODUCTION

The Head of Production will be based at the global manufacturing site in Boksburg and will report to the Manufacturing Director. They will be responsible for strategically and practically contributing to the overall continuous improvement of plant availability and productivity, implement and maintain where necessary a best-in-class manufacturing and production operation as well as lead and contribute to projects identification, development and implementation.

The successful candidate will have experience managing diverse teams with varying capabilities in a fast-paced, technical production environment. This is a “hands-on” role. The Head of Production will spend the majority of their time in the factory.

Specifically, the Head of Production will be required to:

• Contribute to improvements and expansion projects when required
• Identify performance improvement opportunities with your teams
• Collaborate with the required departments to roll out the required improvement project
• Collaborate with departmental managers to ensure that staff are dynamically resourced across lines
• Ensure departmental managers are training staff on the work instructions of their job
• Conduct regular team meetings and ensure effective communication
• Implement and maintain where necessary a best-in-class manufacturing and production operation

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors of Engineering degree from a leading university; at least 10 years’ experience in a packaging/production management role in a FMCG environment; exceptional organisational & leadership skills. A keen eye for detail and an action-orientated collaborative style will be important attributes to succeed in this dynamic team environment.

Experience in large scale manufacturing, bottle printing/decorating and/or the plastics industry is highly advantageous.
